"Cold" idioms





Cold-blooded: cruel.

He has been sent to prison because he was a cold-blooded murderer.


To get cold-feet: to feel afraid, to yellow, to chicken out, to lose courage:


She´s getting cold about getting married, although she sure loves her fiancé very much.


To give someone the cold shoulder: to ignore someone, to refuse to speak with a person, to treat someone coldly:


Ever since they had that terrible argument, they´ve been giving each other the cold shoulder.


A cold fish: an unfriendly and unemotional person that shows no warmth:


Bob´s such a cold fish. He´s never showed he cares about anyone. No wonder he´s still single.
